Bud used conventional punches, enlarged the holes, then used
larger punches. I forget how long Bud spent on this
container, but it was longer than either of us thought it would
take.

Finally, I told
Bud that I would get my new punches out of the truck so we could
try them. I brought him a 1/4" X 12" and a 5/16"
X 12". The punch set comes with several length
punches, there are 4 diameter sizes (and yes my name is spelled
wrong on the handles, a common mistake I have lived with all my
life, I don't care anymore).
The safe was opened in seconds after I handed the two punches to
Bud. Good tools do make a difference.

A good friend Van Schneider and myself are drilling a Red Label
GSA Cabinet. The safe are up many SA, MP#, Champion and
Mr. Twister drill bits. It also ruined a diamond core at
high speed with light pressure.
When I got involved, there were at least 20 spent drill bits
laying in front of the container. I pulled out the Metabo
1015 that I had bought from Bob Stably several months ago.
I set the RPM at 550 and the torque at 7. The drill was
quite and easy to hold on to since it is not real heavy.
45 minutes to an hour later, and two more diamond core bit, we
broke through. The 1015 kept Van and I from breaking a
sweat, it truly is the best drill I have ever worked with.
If you ever have the chance to by one, jump on it. You
will not be sorry.
